Environmentally friendly cleaning of the bathroom

The cleaning of the bathroom is particularly important because here like to settle bacteria that can cause diseases. There are numerous products on the market that can help with this.

However, in this post we recommend various homemade and environmentally friendly products for cleaning .

Conventional cleaning agents contain harmful products that are harmful to health and the environment. Today we recommend various alternatives that are healthy, environmentally friendly and at the same time inexpensive.

1. Cleaning the bathtub and toilet

Both require thorough cleaning and disinfection – they should not only be clean but also bacteria-free, and preventive measures against clogged pipes are recommended at the same time. To do this, we use  a simple homemade detergent that  gives excellent results:

You need the following products:

  • 2 cups of baking soda (400 g)
  • 4 cups of boiling water (800 ml)
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar (200 g)

First of all ,  baking soda is sprinkled into the toilet bowl,  it must work for half an hour. Soda cleans, disinfects and also helps remove stains.

After 30 minutes, the  boiling water with the apple cider vinegar is  poured into the toilet bowl and everything is cleaned with a brush. Then flush the toilet and the toilet is clean.

So you can clean the toilet twice a week. If you want everything not only to be disinfected but also to smell good,  you can mix half a liter of water with 5 drops of tea tree oil (the best natural disinfectant).

You can let this mixture work all night and the next day the toilet will be clean and smelling fresh.

Bathtub or shower

The bathtub can also be cleaned this way: First sprinkle baking soda into the bathtub and then clean it with a sponge. Then cover the drain with the lid and pour the hot water with the apple cider vinegar into the tub.

Clean everything well, then remove the lid and rinse briefly with clean water.

2. Tile cleaning

Option 1: Daily cleaning of the tiles in the bathroom

  • 3 sprigs of rosemary
  • 5 drops of tea tree oil
  • 1 liter of water

First, a tea is made from 3 sprigs of rosemary in one liter of water. This medicinal plant has a strong disinfectant effect and in combination with tea tree oil this property is then additionally strengthened – the bath will then also shine wonderfully.

As soon as the tea has cooled down a bit, then add 5 drops of tea tree oil. Then fill this mixture into a bottle with an atomizer and use it to clean the tiles normally with a cloth. That smells wonderful!

Option 2: Thoroughly cleaning the tiles

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar (200 ml)
  • 1 cup of baking soda (200 g)
  • 4 liters of water
  • 1 cup of ammonia (150 ml)

This agent is also very helpful in the case of heavier soiling and leaves tiles with a wonderfully shiny finish. Simply heat the 4 liters of water (it shouldn’t boil!) And then stir in the rest of the ingredients: the apple cider vinegar, the baking soda and the ammonia.

Clean the tiles with a mop and the prepared cleaning agent. Then dry with a cloth. The tiles will immediately shine really well.

3. Clean the water taps

You need the following products:

  • 100 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 100 ml of water

This remedy is very simple and also very effective. Apple cider vinegar is an excellent, environmentally friendly and inexpensive cleaning agent.

Simply mix both ingredients and pour into a spray bottle. If there are limescale deposits, you can also use plain vinegar without water.

Apply directly and then let it work for 10 minutes. Then brush thoroughly with an old toothbrush to remove the limescale deposits.

Finally, the taps are made to shine with a dry cloth. You will be very pleased with the good results.
