Prepare this recipe in the morning so it can steep for a few hours before you eat it.

  • Cut the cabbage into fine strips and then place them in a sealable glass jar.
  • Add oil, lemon juice, salt, and spices.
  • Seal the glass jar and let the mixture steep for at least 2 hours at room temperature.

    How do you eat this salad?

    • The recipe makes two servings that can be eaten as a  side dish for lunch or dinner.
    • Chew the cabbage well to prevent gas. The caraway seeds in this salad also help prevent gas.
