Water treatment for sinusitis

You only need 2 liters of water a day for this. You will need to drink this throughout the day so that the mucus that has built up becomes thinner and easier to clear out.

The sinuses can be cleared faster and inflammation can be reduced.

Nasal douche

For this home remedy, you need a saline solution, which you can buy at the pharmacy or prepare yourself with 1 liter of water and a handful of salt. The nasal douche noticeably eases the symptoms.

What should I do?

Pour the saline solution into a syringe, place the syringe on your nostril, and take a deep breath as you draw the liquid into your sinus. If you feel the saline solution penetrating your throat, it will be expelled again. The other nostril is held closed during this treatment.

Repeat this process several times until the mucus loosens.

Solution with oil, salt and lavender

  • 2 tablespoons of water (20 ml)
  • 3 drops of olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 drops of lavender essence

  • Put the water and salt in a saucepan.
  • Add the olive oil and the lavender essence.
  • Bring this liquid to a boil and then remove it from the stove.
  • Let it cool down and use a dropper dispenser to add to the sinuses every day.

  • 5 cups of water (1.2 l)
  • 3 drops of eucalyptus oil
  • 3 drops of mint oil

  • Put the water in a saucepan and add the essential oils.
  • Bring this liquid to a boil.
  • Remove from heat and inhale the steam with your head covered (be careful not to burn yourself).
  • Breathe in deeply for several minutes.
  • Repeat inhalation up to 4 times a day.
