Alcohol is harmful to the stomach and other vital organs. It contains toxins and should therefore only be consumed in small quantities. The less the better.

Not only the stomach, but also the liver, intestines, heart and other organs suffer from it. The harmful effects of alcohol can be felt almost immediately after consumption.

In addition, alcohol does not contain the necessary nutrients, but it does contain many calories. Alcoholic beverages  have a dehydrating effect, which in large quantities could lead to dehydration of the organism. This is how the hangover develops after consuming alcohol, for example.

Every alcoholic drink is harmful to the organism, but high-grade drinks are especially harmful . Mixed drinks with alcohol and soft drinks are also not good for your health. These contain large amounts of sugar and are high in calories!

The most aggressive alcoholic drinks that attack the stomach particularly badly include the following:

  • Schnapps is one of those alcoholic drinks that you should better avoid. Fruit schnapps in particular contains a lot of sugar and a lot of alcohol.
  • “Amaretto sour” contains up to 300 calories! This mixed drink can contain up to 57 g of sugar per glass, so it is not recommended in any case.
  • The typical digestive schnapps made from anise is usually high-grade and is often used as the basis for various mixed drinks. Although this schnapps is very popular in many places after a meal, it is very high in calories (between 295 and 300 kcal). That is also not advisable.

Cocktails, rum and vodka

  • Cocktails are generally very high in calories. They are often made with high-grade alcoholic beverages like rum, tequila, gin, vodka, etc., and mixed with carbonated, sugared beverages like cola. This combination results in particularly high concentrations of alcohol and calories!
    • Rum is mainly made from sugar cane and is therefore very high in calories (around 244 kcal). In addition, this drink is high grade. It is often used for cocktails, for example “mojitos”.
    • Vodka is used for many mixed drinks,  among other things this distillate is often combined with energy drinks. Vodka is high in calories (around 300 kcal) and has at least 37º alcohol, which is very harmful to the stomach.
